Journey Across America
As we were driving to Atlanta, my friend Evelyn, from my previous blog post asked me how many states I had been to. I didn’t have an answer off the top of my head, but I knew I hadn’t been to as many as I would’ve liked. So a few days later, I made a list of all the states I had and had not been. Here’s my list as of today:
States I’ve Been To (24 & D.C.):
New Hampshire (born & raised), Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Washington D.C., Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Illinois, Oregon, and as of today Tennessee.
States I Haven’t Been To (26):
Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Minnesota, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Nebraska, Arizona, California, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin, Alaska, Hawaii.
As a result of this list, I realized in Atlanta, GA one night, that if I went even just one state west, I would be in a place I had never been before. Currently, I am in a paradoxically fortunate situation. Currently due to COVID and winter, I am not coaching rowing in person, and I am not working full-time right now. Therefore, despite the global circumstances of the pandemic I have decided to take an adventure and photograph my various adventures. Obviously I will be doing this trip following safety guidelines and precautions to reduce my risk of exposure. I feel as though this trip will allow me to take some time to stop and reflect, and determine what it is I really want to be doing going forward. Stay tuned :)
